Nothing is asked of you. There is no account and no login. Our host, Netlify, keeps ordinary server logs, as every web host does: IP address, the page asked for, the browser and the time. We use them to keep the site up.

Counting visits

The site runs Google Analytics 4. It sets cookies and reports page views, clicks on Amazon links and form sign-ups to Google, under Google’s own privacy policy. We look at totals. We do not try to work out who you are, and we do not sell personal information. Block it with your browser or an extension and every page still works.

The bench note list

If you join the list, you give us an email address. Netlify Forms stores it. Nothing is being sent to the list yet and no date is set. When sending starts, this page will name the email service that holds the list. We do not sell, rent or share it. To be taken off, use the contact page.

The contact form

A message sent through the contact page is stored by Netlify Forms and used to answer you. That is all it is used for.

Amazon links

A link to a part on Amazon carries an Amazon Attribution tag. It tells Amazon the visit came from this site. It does not identify you. Once you are on Amazon, Amazon’s privacy policy applies. Other outside links, such as the sources under each note, lead to sites with policies of their own.

Children

The site is written for adults working on their own homes. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
