How we make money
Nobody pays to be in a bench note. One brand of parts is ours, and I tell you so right where I name it.
Short version: this site is free to read, it runs no advertising, and it is paid for by the sale of FourHome replacement plumbing parts on Amazon. FourHome is our own brand. The same team is behind the parts and behind this site.
Where a part shows up
Most bench notes have no product in them at all, because most rules are about how you work, not what you buy. A part appears only when the note is about that part. It appears once, near the end, with a line beside it saying that the same shop draws the Old Tradesman and makes the part.
The link
The button goes to that part’s page on Amazon. The link carries an Amazon Attribution tag, which tells us that a visit or a sale came from this site. It identifies the site, not you. The link is also marked as sponsored, so search engines read it as the commercial link it is. You buy from Amazon, under Amazon’s terms.
What the money does not change
The rule comes first, and the sources are listed. A note goes up because the technique is worth knowing, and it should be worth reading with the link taken out. If one ever reads as though the part came first, say so.
